Given, ¯¯¯x= Mean of Men and women =30,

¯¯¯x1= Mean of men =32

¯¯¯x2= Mean of women =27


Let n1+n2=100 where n1 denotes number of men, n2 denotes number of women for this, n2=100n1

The formula for combined mean is

¯¯¯x=n1¯¯¯x1+n2¯¯¯x2n1+n2


30=32n1+(100n1)27100

30=32n1+270027n1100

30002700=32n127n1

300=5n1

n1=60

So, n2=40

Percentage of women =Number of womenTotal person×100%
