Solution

The correct option is D 88
Let's suppose Alex gave chocolates and sweets to n friends.

Given that, Alex has given 4 chocolates to each of his friends.
Total number of chocolates that Alex has given to his friends =4×n=4n
After giving chocolates to his friends, Alex had 10 chocolates left.
Total number of chocolates that Alex bought =4n+10

Now,
Given that, Alex has given 3 sweets to each of his friends.
Total number of sweets that Alex has given to his friends =3×n=3n
After distributing, Alex had 79 sweets left.
Total number of sweets that Alex bought =3n+79

Also, Alex bought 14 as many chocolates as sweets.
4n+10=14×[3n+79]4×(4n+10)=3n+7916n+40=3n+7916n3n=794013n=39n=3

So, Total number of sweets that Alex bought =3n+79=3×3+79=88 [n=3]

Hence, option d is correct.
