Question

The number of marble slabs of size $$20\ cm \times 30\ cm$$ required to pave the floor of a square room of side $$3m$$ is:

A
100
loader
B
150
loader
C
225
loader
D
25
loader

Solution

The correct option is B $$150$$
Area of marble slab$$= 20 \times 30=600cm^2$$.
Area of the floor $$=3m^2$$
We know that: $$1m = 100cm$$
Therefore, total no. of marble slabs $$=$$ $$\dfrac{area \ of \  floor
}{area\  of\  marble\  tile}$$

                                                            $$=\dfrac {9\times 100^2}{600}=150$$ tiles
