Solution

m% of x=x×m100=xm100
when x is decreased m% =xxm100 ....(1)
m% of y =y×m100=ym100
when y is increased m% =y+ym100 ....(2)
Both (1) and (2) are equal.
xxm100=y+ym100
xy=ym100+xm100
xy=m100(x+y)
100x100yx+y=m
100x100yyx+yy=m
100xy100xy+1=m
100×5210052+1=m [Givenxy=52]
1507×2=m
m=42.857
