Question

The parallel sides of a trapezium are 12 cm and 9 cm and the diatance between them is 8 cm. Find the area of the trapezium.


Solution

Given,
length of parallel sides are 12 and 9 cm 

and height = 8 cm

Area of trapezium=12×perpendicular height×(sum of parallel sides)

=12×8×(12+9)

=12×8×21

=12×168=84 cm2.
