The concentrations of solutions having pH, 3 and 5 are $$1 \times 10^{-3}M$$ and $$1 \times 10^{-5}M$$ respectively.
The concentration of resulting solution is
$$= \dfrac {  1 \times 10^{-3}M+1 \times 10^{-5} M} {2} =5 \times 10^{-4} \quad M$$
$$pH = -log [H^+] = -log\ 5 \times 10^{-4} =3.2967$$
