The angle made by the sector representing apples on the centre of the circle is 90∘. This angle is made by 180 apples or 180 units. 180 units subtends an angle of 90∘.
∴ 400 units will subtend an angle of 90∘180×400=200∘
Thus the angle made by the sector representing apples on the centre of the circle is 200∘.
Total angle subtended at the centre of the circle is 360∘. ∵ angle subtended by the sector representing pears at the centre of the circle =x∘ 90∘+200∘+x∘=360∘ x∘=70∘ ∴ Angle subtended by the sector representing pears is 70∘.
As 200∘ equals 400 units, ⇒70∘ equals 400200×70=140units ∴ Number of pears sold at the fruit store =140
