No. of men in the total population$=\frac{40}{40+43}\times 155625$

$=\frac{40}{83}\times 155625$

$=75000$

No. of women in total population = 155625 – 75000 = 80625

No. of literate men $=\frac{40}{100}\times 75000=30000$

No. of literate women $=\frac{24}{100}\times 80625=19350$

$\therefore$ Total no. of literate people = 30000 + 19350 = 49350
