Let P divides AB in the ratio k:1.
So, by using section formula, we get
(1, 6)=(6k3k+1, 8k+10k+1)On comparing xcoordinate, we get  1=6k3k+1k1=6k37k=2k=27
Hence, P divides AB in the ratio 2:7.
