Question

The shape of a garden is rectangular in the middle and semi circular at the ends as shown in the diagram. The perimeter of this garden is

A
60 m
loader
B
62 m
loader
C
45 m
loader
D
48 m
loader

Solution

The correct option is D 48 m
The perimeter of the garden will be equal to the circumference of the complete circle (two semi-circular parts) plus twice the length of the rectangular part.
Length =20(72+ 72)
               =207
               =13 m
Circumference of circle =2πr                                         =2×227×72                                         =22 m
Perimeter of the garden=(13+13+22) m=48 m
