The side of a square is 5 cm. How many times does the area increase, if the side of the square is doubled? 50.

Let, the side of square is A=5 cm
Area of square =A2=(5 cm)2=25 cm2.....(i)
Now,
Let, the side of new square is B=2A cm=2×5 cm=10 cm
Area of square =B2=(10cm)2=100 cm2....(ii)
Thus, (i) and (ii) shows that the area will increased by 4 time.
