Jai Hind is a saluation , slogan and battel cry most commonly used in India in speeches and communication pertaining to or referring to patriotisim towards India(also known as Hind) . It translates roughly to "Hail India " or " Victory to India" or " Long live India" .
The term was claimed to be coined by Chempakaraman pillai of Indian Independence movement and Hindu-German Conspiracy.

But researchers had stated that it was first coined by major Abid hasan safrani of the Indian National Army as a shortened version of Jai Hindustan Ki.
