Solution

Particles of matter are continuously moving, so they contain kinetic energy. As the temperature rises, these gaseous particles move faster. Thus, these particles with high kinetic energy carry smell of hot sizzling food to several meters while the particles of cold food do not as they have no energy to move. Hence, the smell of hot food can travel to several meters away while you need to get close to smell cold food.
