Question

The sum of two consecutive multiples of $$6$$ is $$66$$. Find these multiples.

Solution

Let the two consecutive multiples of $$6$$ be $$6x$$ and $$6x+6$$

According to the given condition,

$$6x+6x+6=66$$

$$12x+6=66$$

$$12x=60$$

$$x=5$$

Thus required multiples are $$30$$ and $$36$$.
