The time taken by a car to reach 90 km/h from rest is 5 minutes. Calculate:

(i) The acceleration of the car

(ii) The distance covered by the car [5 MARKS]

Finding acceleration : 2.5 Marks
Distance covered : 2.5 Marks

v = 90 km/h = 25 m/s
t = 5 minutes = 300 s

We know that, $a=\frac{(v-u)}{t}$
$=\frac{25}{300}m/s^2=\frac{1}{12}m/s^2$

$\left(ii\right)s=ut+\frac{(at\times t)}{2}$
$=0+\frac{(300\times 300)}{(12\times 2)}m$
$=3750m$
