The total price of 10 books is Rs. 120 while the average price of 8 of these books is Rs.11.75. Of the remaining two books, if the price of one book is 40% more than the price of the other, the price difference between these two books is nearly:
Total price of the two books = 120 - (11.75 x 8) = Rs. 26.
Let the price of one of the books be Rs.x.
Then, price of the other book is 1.4x.
2.4x = 26
⟹ x = 10.83
Price of one book = Rs. 10.83
∴ Price of the other book = 1.4x = 15.17.
∴ Price difference of these books = Rs.4.34.
