Solution

The total revenue in Rs received with the sale of x units is given by,

R( x )=3 x 2 +36x+5

Marginal revenue is the rate of change of total revenue with respect to the number of units sold.

Let the marginal revenue be MR.

According to the given condition,

MR= dR( x ) dx = d dx ( 3 x 2 +36x+5 ) =6x+36 (1)

Substitute the value of x as 15 in equation (1).

MR=6×15+36 =90+36 =126

Thus, the marginal revenue of 15 units produced is Rs126.

The correct option is D.
