Question

The total surface area of cube is $$ 216 cm ^{2}$$.Find its volume.


Solution

$$ 6 (Edge)^{2} $$ = Total surface area of the a cube 
Substituting the values
$$ 6 (Edge)^{2}  = 216cm^{2} = \dfrac{216}{6}$$ 
By further calculation
$$ (Edge)^{2} = 36 $$
Edge $$= \sqrt{36}$$
Edge $$= 6 cm$$
We know that
Volume of the given cube $$ (Edge)^{3} = (6)^{3} = 6 \times  6 \times 6 = 216 cm^{3}$$
