Question

The value of current flowing in a given resistor for the corresponding values of potential difference across the resistor are given below:

I: 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0

V: 1.6, 3.4, 6.7, 10.2, 13.2

Calculate the resistance of the resistor.

Solution

We have equation for resistance,
R = V / I
(V - voltage, I - current)

Here it is given as 5 values of each. We calculate 5 resistances and take average.

ie;
Resistance are; 3.2,3.4,3.35,3.4,3.3

Taking average ( total / 5)
3.33Ω

Resistance is 3.33Ω
