$\Rightarrow$ $3 x - 5 + 5 = 5 x + 11 + 5$ ...[Adding $5$ on both sides]

$\Rightarrow$ $3 x = 5 x + 16$

$\Rightarrow$ $3 x - 5 x = 16$ ...[Transposing $x$ terms to one side]

$\Rightarrow$ $- 2 x = 16$

$\Rightarrow$ $x = - 8$ .
