given volume of cuboid $=$ length $\times$ breadth $\times$ height
also base is square, $∴$ length $=$ breadth $= x$
therefore, $28 c m^{3} = 7 \times x \times x$
$\Rightarrow x = 2 c m$
(i) side of square base $= 2 c m$
(ii) surface area of the cuboid
$= 2 (l b + b h + l h) = 2 (2 \times 2 + 2 \times 7 + 2 \times 7)$
$= 2 (4 + 14 + 14)$
$= 2 (32)$
$= 64 c m^{2}$
