Present Ratio = 6 : 8 3 : 4

Let the new number of girls be x
It is given, the ratio of number of boys to the number of girls after girls have been added is 1 : 2

6 : x :: 1 : 2
6x=12
x=12
Therefore, the new number of girls = 12

The number of new girls added = 12 - 8 = 4
