Solution

The correct option is C Goa
When India attained its independence from the British in 1947, Goa did not become a part of India. Goa remained a Portuguese colony until 1961, straining relations between India and Portugal as the former's support for the anti-colonial movement in Goa grew. In 1961, the Indian army invaded the state after the Portuguese fired at Indian fishing boats, killing one fisherman. The operation to liberate Goa was named Operation Vijay.

Since then, 19th December is celebrated as Goa Liberation Day.
