Question

Three consecutive integers are such that when they are taken in increasing order and multiplied by 2 3 and 4 respectively they add up to 74 find this numbers


Solution

Let x-1 ,X,X+1 be the 3 conductive numbers .
     
By given condition
          2(x-1)+ 3(X) + 4(X+1) = 74 
 
Solving ,
   2x- 2 + 3x +4x+4 = 74
 >               9x + 2.    =74.    >             9x           = 72
 >                  x.          =8

Hence the conceive no.s are 7,8,9.
