Alloy is a material made of two or more elements, which cannot be separated by physical means. Alloys have properties that are different from the metals they contain. This makes them more useful than the pure metals alone. For example, steel is an alloy of iron and carbon. Pure iron is fairly weak therefore we added carbon to strengthen this iron.
