Solution

The correct option is D $$\dfrac { \cos { { \theta }_{ 2 } } }{ \cos { { \theta }_{ 1 } } }$$
If the particle collide in mid-air, they travel same displacement in horizontal direction. So their velocity components along horizontal will be same.

So,

$$v_1\,cos\theta_1=v_2\,cos\theta_2$$

$$\implies \dfrac{v_1}{v_2}=\dfrac{cos\theta_2}{cos\theta_1}$$
