Question

Two capacitors $$C_{1}$$ and $$C_{2}$$ are charged to 120 $$V$$ and 200 $$V$$ respectively. It is found that by connecting them together the potential on each one can be made zero. Then,

A
3C1=5C2
loader
B
3C1+5C2=0
loader
C
9C1=4C2
loader
D
5C1=3C2
loader

Solution

The correct option is A $$3C_{1}=5C_{2}$$
Potential can be made zero only if they have same charge.
$$\implies 120 C_{1}=200C_{2}$$
$$\therefore 6C_{1}=10C_{2}$$
$$3C_{1}=5C_{2}$$
