The correct option is C

6 m


Length of  1st rod = 6m

Length of 2nd rod  = 18m,
The maximum possible length of each piece that can be cut will be equal to the H.C.F of length of rods.
So,
Factors of  6 = 1, 2, 3 and 6

Factors of 18 = 1, 2, 3, 6, 9 and 18

The common factors of both the numbers are =  1, 2, 3 and 6

The highest common factor is 6.

So, the maximum equal possible lengths each piece is 6 m.
