Consider L.H.S. $2 x + 5$
Put the value of $x$ which is $3$
$= 2 \times 3 + 5 = 6 + 5 = 11$
and R.H.S. is $11$
So, L.H.S. = R.H.S.
Hence, the root of $2 x + 5 = 11$ is $3$ .
