Solution

heat transfer takes place, in this case, is by conduction and convection conduction because of metal in metal heat transfer take place by molecular lattice vibration energy transfer and also by free electron and this is dominant in solid so through conduction heat transfer will take place. convection generally occurs between the solid surface and surrounding fluids due to the temperature difference and here both can be seen. radiation cannot be a mode of heat transfer because for radiation large temperature difference should exist.
so answer will be (2)
