Solution
A system at equilibrium:-
A system at equilibrium can be defined as the state of a system where the concentration of the reactant as well as the concentration of the products do not change with time and the system does not display any further change in properties.
For a system to be at equilibrium the rate of the forward reaction must be equal to the rate of the backward reactions.
All the reactants and the products must be present in the equilibrium in order for a system to be at equilibrium.
Therefore these are two characteristics that define a system at equilibrium.
