Gram-positive bacteria appear bluish-purple colored under the microscope when treated with Gram's stain. This is because they have a very thick layer of peptidoglycan and hence can retain crystal violet stain.
Examples, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Enterococcus, etc.
