Solution

Charateristics of nylon, rayon, polyester & acrylic. They all are synthetic/artificial/man-made fibers.
They are much cheaper than natural fibers. They are easy to produce and readily available.

They have the following chracteristics

» heat-sensitivity

» low melting point

» durability and easy maintenance

» specific density

» flame resistance

» low moisture absorption

» chemical resistance

Each of the given fibers have their own characteristics. Below are the characteristic properties of each

Rayon
  • similar to naturals materials like cotton or wool
  • pleasant to touch and comfortable to wear.
  • rayon is really easy to dye and its colours don’t fade even after numerous washes.
  • It is not as strong and resistant as other synthetic or natural materials.
  • If it gets wet, it tends to lose its quality.
  • It is also one of the least elastic fabric and unable to retain body heat, which makes it more suitable to create clothes and accessories meant to be used in hot and dry climate.

Nylon

  • Highly elastic
  • Durable and abrasion resistant
  • Resilient
  • Water resistant
  • Mold and mildew resistant
  • Stain resistant
  • Easily cleaned
  • Fades easily in sunlight
  • Environmentally unfriendly, not recyclable
  • Overly shiny appearance
  • May generate static electricity
Polyster
  • Very durable and abrasion resistant
  • Resists water, dries quickly
  • Resists stretching and shrinking
  • Mold and mildew resistant
  • Holds color well, resists fading
  • Easy to clean, may be dry cleaned
  • Recyclable
  • Non-breathable
  • Oils may stain

Acrylic
  • The qualities of acrylic are really similar to those of wool.
  • Acrylic is a really light material
  • It can withstand regular washing and still keep most of its features.
  • Acrylic retains its colours really well hypoallergenic
  • It is not as strong and resistant as other synthetic materials
  • It wears and tears quite easily.
