Question

What are the factors affecting the density of a body?

Open in App
Solution

Factors affecting density:
  1. Temperature: Change in temperature causes a change in the density of the substance.
  2. Change of state: If the state of a substance changes, the density changes. This is a result of change in temperature too.
  3. Compression: If a body is subjected to compresssion, the density of the body will increase because volume for the same mass is reduced.
  4. Expansion: If the body is subjected to expansion, its volume increases for the same mass and thereby density changes.
