Solution: Some of the salient features found at the site of Mohan Jo Daro were as follows:
Division of town and roads: The town was built on high plinths, to protect them from floods and dampness. The entire town was laid out in a very organised fashion, where all doors and windows were aligned in order to keep the houses airy.
Roads: Wide and narrow roads were the main features of the site. The pits on the roadside suggest that lamp posts were placed for the benefit of the travellers. There were two main roads, this was considered a speciality of ancient time. The main roads crossed at right angles.
Drainage System: It was the most unique feature of town planning. The system was built to drain dirty water out from the town. Every house had a cesspit. The existence of the drainage system proves that the people were very mindful of hygiene and health.
Public bath and buildings: A huge bath was also excavated from the site. There were rooms for changing clothes and the bath was used for festivals and religious ceremonies.
Two main buildings were also found, a town hall, and an administrative building. Barracks were also found, where soldiers were kept.
