Forests play a vital role in providing a maximum number of requirements. It leads the heading position in maintaining ecological balance.

Uses of forest

Forest gives us many things. Directly or indirectly most of the raw materials are obtained from the forest.

Forests provide us with the following things

Firewood, Timber, Wood pulp, Honey, lac, medicinal plants and herbs, raisin, biofertilizers, etc. Forests also supply us with different types of raw materials for industrial uses, fodder for the animal’s feed, fuel, and fibers.

Forest's role in the environment

Along with these essential products, forests also play an important role in protecting our environment by:

  1. Promoting rainfall.
  2. Reduces noise pollution.
  3. Maintains the ecological balance.
  4. Acts as a wind barrier from heavy winds.
  5. Provide moisture and lower the temperature.
  6. Prevents flash floods by slowing down the movement of water.
  7. Prevent soil erosion and preserve the fertility of the soil.
  8. Maintains the balance of carbon dioxide and oxygen in the environment.
  9. Preserves biodiversity by providing shelter for many creatures that depend on the forest for their survival.
