What do you mean by the term 'WAVELENGTH' of light?

Light is an electromagnetic wave.Therefore it possess a wavelength. The wavelength of light is defined as “The distance between the two successive crests or troughs of the light wave.
The colours in the visible light are nothing but electromagnetic radiations with a different wavelength of light.Visible spectrum consists of seven colours.Out of these, red is having the longest wavelength and violet colour is having the shortest wavelength.
