Effects of interchanging galvanometer and cell at the balance point of the bridge

  1. The figure on the left side represents the Wheatstone bridge, and the figure on the right side represents the Wheatstone bridge whose battery and the galvanometer are interchanged
    1.1 The balanced condition on the left side image of the bridge is

    1.2 The balanced condition on the right side image of the bridge is

  2. A galvanometer is a device used for measurement of current, by using the movement of the electrical needle which is used for indicating the current direction.
  3. When the galvanometer and the cell are interchanged, the balance point doesn't change.
  4. Therefore there will be no current shown in the galvanometer.
  5. There will be no reflection in the galvanometer.
