What happens when sulphuric acid is diluted by adding water to concentrated H2SO4. Explain.

The right method to make concentrated acid dilute is to mix acid in water. If we mix water in concentrated acid, it may cause an explosion as the reaction is exothermic.
So, for preparing dilute solution of H2SO4 we proceed by adding Conc. H2SO4 to water.
