Solution

Element

  • Element refers to the composition of the same type of atoms that can not be broken down into simpler forms by any physical or chemical methods.
  • For example, sodium, calcium, and magnesium elements.

Different types of elements

  • The elements are classified as metal, non-metal, and metalloid.
  • The extreme left side elements in the periodic table are metals, for example, sodium, calcium, caesium, etc.
  • However, elements on the right side are generally referred to as non-metals, carbon, chlorine, oxygen, etc.
  • The metals and non-metals are separated by a diagonal line of elements known as the metalloids.
  • Some metalloids are silicon, arsenic, antimony and many more.
