Question

What is electroscope and why is it used?

Open in App
Solution

An electroscope is an easily used primitive instrument for detecting and displaying electric charge. It's easy to make, too. It's generally suitable for demonstrating that things can have an unbalanced set of charges in them, temporarily. For example glass or some dielectric like rubber can have charge 'rubbed' off. Suitable for school demos.
