What is migration? What are its causes?

When a large number of organisms belonging to same species move from one environment to a different environment is termed as migration. The causes of migration of species include food availability, safety from predation, mating opportunity, or other environmental factors (Hurricane, flooding, volcano eruption, drought etc).
