  • Renaissance is the period of transformation between the medieval and modern periods in Europe.
  • During the period of the renaissance, multiple changes took place. People emphasised humanism and rediscovered the ancient Greek and Roman cultures. They also incorporated the use of local languages in literature.
  • The intellectuals came ahead and started opposing the Roman Catholic churches as the priests looted people in the name of religion.
  • After the fall of the ancient Roman empire by the Ottoman Turks in 1453, the trade between the European countries and Asia became stagnant. As a result sea trade routes were discovered to re-establish the trade.
  • Society developed a rational and scientific attitude and stopped believing into rituals and customs that were followed earlier in the society.
