What is the dimensional formula of moment of force?


Solution

We have unit of mass as Kg dimensions are $$ [M^1][L^0][T^0]$$  unit of acceleration as $$m/s^ 2$$  dimensionally expressed as $$ [M^0][L^1][T^{−2}] $$ hence we have unit of force as $$ Kg\times m/s^2 $$

So dimensionally it can be written as $$ [M^1][L^0][T^0]\times[M^0][L^1][T^0][M^0][L^0][T^2]  =  Kg\times ms^2 $$

Hence we get dimensional formula as  $$[M^1][L^1][T^{−2}]$$
