Leucoplasts:

  1. Leucoplasts are a type of plastids.
  2. So they are found only in plant cells.
  3. They do not contain any pigments and are therefore colourless in appearance.
  4. Their function is to store food in the form of starch, proteins and fats.
  5. They are present in food storing parts of a plant such as roots, underground stems.
  6. A vegetable where leucoplast is abundantly present is potato (underground stem).
