Solution

Definition of neutralization reaction

A reaction of an acid with a base to form salt and water is known as a neutralization reaction. Here, the reaction of hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide (base) forms sodium chloride (NaCl) salt and water (H2O)

Reaction involved:

HCl(aq)+NaOH(aq)NaCl(aq)+H2O(l)

Therefore, the reaction between aqueous sodium hydroxide(NaOH) and aqueous hydrochloric acid(HCl) is an example of a neutralization reaction.
