In step four of areobic respiration ie., glycolysis , 2 glycerate 3-phosphate get oxidized and produce 2 molecule of 1, 3- bisphosphoglycerate.
Total ATP produce in the cellular respiration is 36
36 ATP molecule will be produced from starting point of cellular respiration ie., glucose start to convert.
Now, this 1, 3- bisphosphoglycerate is an intermediate molecule which is produce in glycolysis process.
So, If you take one 1, 3- bisphosphoglycerate utilization
Toatl ATP = 36 divided by 2
18 ATP produce totally. But before 1, 3- bisphosphoglycerate formation one ATP was utilized.
So, total 17 ATP is formed.
