In humans, each cell contains 23 pairs of chromosomes. Twenty-two of these pairs are called autosomes. The 23rd pair is the sex chromosome.
So, the no of pairs of chromosomes = 23
No of pairs of autosomes = 22
No of sex chromosomes in both male and female = 2
