The given equation is,
$4 x - 7 = 3 x + 5$
On transposing $3 x$ from RHS to LHS we get,
$4 x - 3 x - 7 = 5 \Rightarrow x - 7 = 5$

Now, transposing $(- 7)$ from LHS to RHS we get,
$x = 7 + 5 \Rightarrow x = 12$
