Water of crystallization is the fixed number of water molecules present in one formula unit of a salt.

For example, chemical formula of hydrated copper sulphate is $C u S O_{4} \cdot 5 H_{2} O$ . Copper sulphate has 5 molecules of water of crystallisation.
